The Plan Reviewer will review construction plans and related documents to ensure compliance of proposed construction with applicable codes/ordinances relating to residential, multi-family and commercial properties.

An employee in this classification is primarily responsible for the review of construction plans for new/existing buildings, renovations, and remodeling work.

This employee reviews building applications, plans, site plans, plan revisions, architectural drawings, engineering drawings, electrical and plumbing diagrams, equipment specifications and related documents for compliance with the City's Building, Heating and Ventilation, Plumbing, Electrical, Zoning and Sign codes.

Some discretion is involved in applying codes and standards to particular circumstances, but decisions are generally limited by established precedents.

Administrative direction is received from the West Memphis Planning and Development Director.
