The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC), a multijurisdictional planning agency covering seven counties in northeast Minnesota located in Duluth, MN, has a full-time Transportation Planner opening in its Metropolitan Interstate Council (MIC) Division. The MIC Division serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Duluth, MN - Superior, WI metro Area.
The Transportation Planner works to improve the movement of people and goods throughout the region by coordinating or assisting with transportation improvement programs, multi-modal transportation plans, and other related planning initiatives in coordination with local jurisdictions, agencies, committees and community members.
The Transportation Planner may write draft, final and/or sections of plans, project reports, meeting materials, and other documents as required; present information about projects at meetings of the MIC Policy Board and its advisory committee; lead or assist in providing staff support to advisory committees, subcommittees, and special groups associated with transportation issues in Duluth/Superior area; and develop working relationships with local officials and regional contacts to familiarize them with the MIC's ongoing work and products and to learn about their transportation-related projects, plans, needs, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Duluth, MN, located on the shores of Lake Superior, offers many outdoor attractions including biking, hiking, skiing and more, along with vibrant arts and culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's degree in a planning related field and two years of pertinent experience; OR
- A two-year degree and at least four years of pertinent experience; OR
- A Master's degree in a related field;
- OR six years of pertinent experience.
Other: A valid driver's license is required.
*Salary: $25.45-$35.10/hour (*based on experience)
