Solar Energy

The city's municipal code defines solar energy collectors as accessory structures and offers a bonus density incentive for solar features in PUDs. It includes solar energy collectors within its definition of accessory structures (§17.12.005.B.8). The municipal code also provides solar energy incentives in its residential planned unit development regulations, offering bonus densities of 3 percent for provision of solar housing design elements or if 100% of homes have substantial south-facing windows (§17.28.050.E.3.i).
