Report a broken linksolar energy
The city's code permits accessory solar energy systems in all districts, promotes solar access design, and incentivizes solar site planning. It address solar access, stating that subdivisions should be designed so that buildings can take maximum advantage of solar energy, incorporate active solar energy systems, maximize passive solar snow melt, and consider solar access easements or covenants (§10-4-4).
In the city's zoning regulations, development in the low-density residential district may obtain density bonuses in exchange for certain design features, including site planning that demonstrates energy conservation efforts such as solar orientation and protection of solar access (§11-9E-6).
Accessory solar energy systems are permitted in all commercial zoning districts (§11-10B-1.C).
