Solar Energy

The town's bylaw establishes an overlay district for large-scale solar photovoltaic installations. This overlay district, Solar Photovoltaic Installation Overlay District (SPOD), addresses systems greater than 250 kW on at least 5 acres of land. A building permit and site plan review is required for these facilities; the ordinance lists other required application documentation and provides dimensional, design and performance, and safety and environmental standards (§7-18).
