solar energy

The city's zoning code permits accessory solar energy systems by right in most districts and as conditional uses in others; its subdivision ordinance encourages solar-oriented street design.

The city's zoning code permits rooftop and ground-mounted accessory solar energy systems by right in most districts and as a conditional use in the remaining districts (Tables 6-3, 7-3, 8-3, 9-3, 10-3). All solar energy systems are subject to specific standards addressing height, setbacks, building code compliance, site plan review, and abandonment (§13-1611).

The city's subdivision ordinance encourages street layouts (§14-701.b) and lot designs (§14-724) that facilitate solar energy use.
