Solar Energy

The town's subdivision regulations include a section on passive solar energy techniques as part of the design and construction standards (§302-36). Applicants must demonstrate their consideration of five passive solar energy techniques: house orientations, street and lot layout, vegetation, topographical features, and protection of solar access.

The subdivision regulations provide a Passive Solar Site Design Checklist and offers guidance on how best to incorporate these five techniques.
