Small Wireless Facilities and Wireless Facilities in the ROW
The city's land development code defines "small cell facility," "small cell facility upgrade," and "small cell network," in addition to "wireless mesh networking facility" (§15.10.020). The code provides standards for small cell and wireless mesh networking facilities, which may be located in any zone district and in the public right-of-way subject to location, size, and setback standards (§15.05.170.E).
Solar Energy
The city's land development code includes solar orientation and solar design in a menu of options that planned unit developments may use to qualify for bonus density (Table 15.03-B).
This code also requires that all new development in low- and mixed-density residential districts be sited to take advantage of solar orientation (Sec. 15.04.020.28.e.i).
The city's building code requires all new residential development to obtain a minimum number of green building points. Projects can earn points for solar-ready design and for including active or passive solar energy systems (Sec. 16.03.130.H).
