Solar Energy

A livability policy included in the Land Use Chapter of the General Plan stresses the consideration of solar access when conducting district planning and focused studies for special areas and sites (L.1.D.4). A snow management policy included in the Mobility Chapter supports development of solar heating opportunities for snow removal (M.9.C.1) Energy Conservation policies in the Resource Management and Conservation Chapter encourage building design and orientation for passive solar heating (R.8.F.1) and the use of decentralized solar electric power production systems (R.8.G.1).
