Solar energy

In the city's zoning ordinance, one stated purpose of the PUD provisions is to protect solar access (Sec. 15.04.1). An objective of the PUD is to encourage the use of solar energy in buildings through the provision and protection of solar access (Sec. 15.04.2.k). One of the findings used to base a decision to recommend approval of a PUD Subdistrict is whether the location, design, size, and land uses meet solar orientation requirements (Sec. 15.04.8.h).
