Solar Energy

The Energy Element of the city's general plan includes a broad goal to promote renewable energy sources and specific policies encouraging solar design (Objective I-1, Policy(a)), solar thermal systems (Objective I-1, Policy(b)), and bulk purchasing of solar energy systems (Objective I-2, Policy (c)). Other specific policies recommend design guidelines for solar installations (Objective I-1, Policy d), providing technical assistance to homeowners interested in solar PV systems (Objective I-2, Policy d), and providing information to homeowners associations about renewable energy systems (Objective I-2, Policy g) as well as installing PV solar energy systems on municipal facilities (Objective I-3, Policy c).
