This area master plan promotes the town's goal to implement green building strategies and techniques; it notes the need to provide some flexibility to the architectural design guidelines in order to achieve this goal (5.17.14).

The architectural design guidelines address rooftop solar energy devices. These illustrated guidelines help ensure solar panels are installed to minimize excessive visual impact (Sec. 8.4.2.7, pp. 8-32 to 8-33).
