Solar Energy

In the town's General Plan, the Environmental Resources element includes a section on Energy (p. 6-12), which notes that the town has the opportunity to commit to a sustainable future by replacing dependence on imported, nonrenewable energy sources with renewable energy sources available within the town. Related policies includes providing for solar access in new development and encouraging the use of solar easements (H.1.2) and promoting the use of renewable resources (H.1.7). Related implementation programs include publicizing information about renewable energy resource development to residents (H.2), enforcing state solar energy-related regulation (H.3), and establishing design guidelines to increase use of renewable energy and solar use (H.4).
