Housing Supply Planning
The city's land use development code encourages increasing housing supply and housing options for all by permitting multiple types of small-scale residential infill projects. These projects include small and smaller homes, carriage houses, detached ADUs, duplex and triplex housing, shared court, garden court, and townhouse residences.
Residential Infill Development
The city’s land use development code permits multiple types of small-scale residential infill projects, subject to use-specific standards (§20.28.050). These projects include small and smaller homes, carriage houses; detached ADUs; duplex and triplex housing; shared court; garden court; and townhouse residences. Use-specific standards address site requirements and setbacks, bulk and massing, open space, parking, design standards, and design guidelines.
Solar Energy
The city’s land use development code permits solar and other alternative energy power generating facilities are permitted outright in industrial areas if total output is less than 5.0 MW and noise is mitigated (§20.36.030.C.1.b).
