Solar Energy

This model bylaw from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers zoning standards with commentary for the placement, design, construction, operation, monitoring, modification and removal of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV installations (defined as those with a capacity greater than 250 kW). The standards address public safety, minimize impacts on scenic, natural and historic resources, and require adequate financial assurance for the eventual decommissioning of such installations.
