The city's design review guidelines address solar energy. Site planning guidelines state that building orientation and landscaping as well as private yards and common open space should maximize solar access and orientation (Sec. I.B.6, Sec. I.G.2). Architectural guidelines address solar access and energy conservation, stating that rooftop areas should be able to accommodate solar energy systems, which should be sited to avoid glare to adjacent areas (Sec. II.C.4).
