Active Transportation
The city’s zoning code sets bicycle parking minimums broadly by use, sets standards for minimums, and includes illustrated design standards for both the racks and parking area (§405.3670). If the standards are met, the code allows for the reduction of automobile parking spaces.
Wind Energy
The city’s zoning ordinance regulates small freestanding and building-mounted wind energy systems (§405.III.390.B).
It allows building-mounted small wind energy systems in all non-residential districts with a discretionary use permit, subject to use-specific standards (§405.XXVIII.3880.A.4.a). It also allows building-mounted systems on institutional uses in residential districts, provided the property is at least five acres.
It allows freestanding small wind energy systems in High Density Commercial and Service districts with a discretionary use permit, subject to use-specific standards.
It includes height standards for building-mounted and freestanding wind energy systems (405.XXVIII.3880.A.5.a). It provides minimum setbacks for freestanding towers, and all are subject to district standards.
