Report a broken linkGrayfields Reuse and Redevelopment
This article outlines several ways to improve grayfield sites during redevelopment. These include improving access for pedestrians and transit riders, increasing density, retrofitting parking lots by making them more pedestrian friendly, relocating those lots behind buildings, slowing vehicles to improve safety, arranging public buildings near transit stops, designing retail to accommodate shoppers using different transportation modes, breaking up surface parking with buildings, incorporating transit and ridesharing stops into gas stations or convenience store lots, and keeping complementary businesses close together to reduce trips for consumers.
