Design Review

This report, written by Dyett and Bhatia for the city of Santa Monica's zoning ordinance update, evaluates the city's current design review process and then explores options for different design review procedures and best practices based on case studies of five peer communities to Santa Monica. The report offers three recommendations and provides sample regulatory language from Palo Alto, Pasadena, and Ventura.
