Design Review

The town's design review ordinance (Chapter 22 of the town code) establishes historic preservation-based standards for design review districts in the town center mixed residential and business use district. It designates two design review districts and a color overlay district. Design Certificate approval by the Project Review Board is required for new construction, changes to or demolition of existing buildings, and changes to walls, fences, driveways, parking areas, lighting, and signage within view of public streets and rights-of-way. The ordinance includes basic design guidelines.
