Design Review

Amherst's design review process was established in 1983 for the downtown district; today the DRB's advisory jurisdiction includes all building and land use permits within the downtown business districts and exterior changes within 150 feet of the Town Common, as well as all Town projects. The guide provides maps of the design review districts, offers a detailed application process checklist, and provides illustrated design review principles and standards.
