Design Review

This set of design guidelines for the city's central business district complements guidelines for historic preservation overlay districts. It is used by the zoning administrator and the Design and Preservation Commission.  Design guidelines for the city's historic central business district. The guidelines are composed of several components—design element, policy statement, background information, and the design guidelines themselves—and illustrated. General guidelines apply to all projects in the central business district, and address site planning and streetscape design, parking, and additions. Additional guidelines address signage, as well as building features within the Pedestrian Zone and the Vehicular Zone. A glossary is provided.
