Design Review

The city established its Architectural Review Board in 1967. The design guidelines apply to the architectural review district, which includes the area of the original village plat, but are also applicable to new construction and renovation throughout the community. The guide offers an architectural style guide illustrating different home designs and provides site and design standards for new construction as well as rehabilitation of residential dwellings and commercial and institutional sites. The focus of the guide is on maintaining the historic character of the city.
