Small Wireless Facilities and Wireless Facilities in the ROW

The city code's chapter on Streets, Sidewalks and Other Public Ways addresses the placement and maintenance of a communications facility or personal wireless service facility in public rights-of-way in a 2014 ordinance (§25-120). The ordinance requires approvals for such installations by the building division, the public works department, and the planning and zoning division as a non-quasi-judicial action. It lists application requirements and sets a 90-day timeline for approvals. Preferential treatment is given to colocated and stealth facilities. The ordinance establishes design standards for wireless facilities and antennas.
