Food Systems | Urban Agriculture

This briefing paper discusses local governments' roles in supporting urban agriculture projects and policies as strategies to address food deserts, community food security, and greening initiatives. It draws from examples across the U.S. to discuss how local governments plan and support urban agriculture. The latter part of the paper discusses these issues specific to South Bend, IN, with recommendations to help support community gardening within the jurisdiction.
