Accessory Dwelling Units

The city's municipal code encourages increasing housing supply and affordable options for all by permitting attached and detached accessory dwelling units (§17C.300). Development standards are listed in §17C.300.130.

Climate Change

The city’s environmental stewardship code addresses climate action (§15.05). It acknowledges the impacts of climate change (§15.05.010), outlines the city’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals (§15.05.020), and requires the city to provide reports on its climate goals (§15.05.060).

Tactical Urbanism

The city’s license code establishes a licensing process for parklets and streateries (§10.55). Licensing standards address definitions, license requirements and process, application requirements, notices, parklet terms and conditions, streatery terms and conditions, liquor use and sales, insurance requirements, indemnification, maintenance, regulations and design guidelines, and fees.
