Food Systems | Urban Agriculture

This guide provides information and sample zoning code language to help reduce barriers to and encourage urban agricultural activities in Iowa.  It addresses "animal" agriculture, crop agriculture, compost, urban agriculture districts, direct-to-consumer sales, and food trucks and pushcarts. For each topic, the report describes the activity, discusses associated land-use concerns, summarizes existing regulations, and offers best-practice sample code language.
