This standalone policy provides to the city manager the authority and guidance to implement and approve the use of city-owned vacant land not including parks to establish community gardens. It further details the procedure and requirements for the establishment of community gardens on city-owned vacant land, and provides community garden establishment and maintenance guidelines as well as details regarding the required User Agreement for establishing gardens on city-owned lands.
