Environmentally Sensitive Areas

This model ordinance provides background information and a template to help communities regulate conservation subdivisions. The introduction components discuss Wisconsin's smart growth law, conservation subdivision concept, and identifies how open space, farmland, shoreland, and environmentally sensitive areas can benefit from this development technique. The model ordinance section includes the following provision sections: general provisions, definitions, application procedure and approval process, requirements for design and improvements, and ownership and maintenance of open space and common facilities.
