Scenic View Protection

The county’s zoning code protects the scenic qualities of the county, including ridgelines and hillsides (§18.106.010). It establishes two levels of review: an administrative review for projects that comply with standards and a zoning administrator or commission review for projects that do not meet criteria established in the first review (§18.06.040). Criteria include height limitations, design standards, floor area restrictions, and limits to site grading.
