Scenic View Protection

The county’s zoning code includes rural viewshed preservation as one of four design alternative options for development within planned residential rural district (§23-6.27.6). The rural viewshed preservation option screens structures from roads and protects existing vegetation on residential lots (§23-6.27.6(d)(3)). A lakefront preservation alternative uses rural preservation areas and establishes setback requirements to protect scenic resources (§23-6.27.6(d)(4)).
