Outdoor Lighting

The city’s development code addresses exterior lighting (§5.10). It seeks to balance safety and aesthetics while minimizing impacts on surrounding neighborhoods and the night sky and minimizing energy usage. A description of lighting fixtures is required with development applications. General design standards are provided, and lighting exemptions and prohibitions are listed.
