This report provides a systems-based overview of renewable energy in cities, highlighting numerous case studies, policies, and recommendations for integrated urban and energy planning. Section 3.2 discusses the role of municipal support for renewable energy, including examples of regulations and power purchase agreements to support wind energy. Table 5 summarizes municipal strategies and actions to promote renewable energy (p.39).
