This functional plan discusses the city’s future energy goals and analyzes alternative energy pathways. Its recommended scenario includes adding 24MW of solar energy and 37MW of wind energy to the municipal utility’s portfolio by 2020 (p.5).

Since adoption, the municipal utility has entered into a long-term contract with one wind farm and a power purchase agreement with another (HPBW 2015 Renewable Energy Plan Report).
