Age-Friendly Communities

The town's zoning code includes a universal design incentive that speeds up approval for developments that comply with set universal design standards (Chapter 157, Article II). Standards regulate entrances, interior routes, first-floor bedrooms, and bathrooms.

Green Building

The town's municipal code requires Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for new commercial buildings of a specific size. It requires all new commercial buildings that are equal or greater than 4,000 square feet receive a minimum of LEED Certified certification (§197-4).
