This report exposes the true cost of an auto-oriented transportation system. Table 2 lists the costs of transportation-related health outcomes and Table 5 lists cost savings estimates from walkable design. Chapter 4 shares federal, state, regional, and local policies and policy recommendations to improve health outcomes through better transportation investment.
