This article reviews literature on urban form and mental wellbeing in order to assess the use-value of two planning models: the Sustainability Through Happiness Framework (StHF) and the Healthy Community Design Toolkit (HCDT). Table 1 summarizes the relationships between urban form and mental well-being found in the literature and Figure 1 visualizes a conceptual framework for understanding the relationship between urban form and well-being.
