Built Environment and Health

This guide is an easy-to-use assessment tool of street-level features that affect physical activity. The instructions share how to design an audit of neighborhood streets using the tool. The checklist tracks observations related to the following questions:

  1. What land uses are present?
  2. Is public transportation available?
  3. What street characteristics are available?
  4. What is the quality of the environment?
  5. Do you have a place to walk or bicycle?
