Green Building

The city’s comprehensive plan recommends implementing green building guidelines and mentions its role in neighborhood development within a chapter on housing. It references the green building guidelines of the City of Boston and outlines the goals of this program for reference. It also recommends that a green building permitting system be implemented which would include minimum requirements and incentives for exceeding those requirements. The comprehensive plan prescribes to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system.
