The township’s municipal code requires Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for all new public buildings and major renovations on public buildings and highlights a Green Building Density Incentive Program. It requires all public buildings and major renovations on public buildings receive LEED Silver certification (§217-2). The Green Building Density Incentive Program requires redevelopers to recruit a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) to work on the project, submit a LEED scorecard, implement a waste management plan, meet Energy Star requirements, and register the project with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) (§217-3).
