Green Building

The city’s code of ordinances outlines green building requirements for new and existing public buildings and provides green building incentives. It requires new public buildings attain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification and an Energy Star Building label (§180-2). It requires existing public buildings be evaluated by a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) to assess potential for LEED Silver or Certified certification (§180-3). It also highlights incentives including expedited review and fee refunds (§180-4).
