Climate Change

The city’s administration code addresses climate change. It establishes an Energy and Climate Committee to support the city's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing community resiliency, as recommended in its climate action plan (§2-1088).

Green Building

The city’s land development code describes a Sustainable Energy Efficient Development Overlay which encourages green building through zoning incentives. It identifies four eligible green building certification systems: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Green Globes, National Green Building Standard, and International Green Construction Code (§14.3.1). It outlines zoning incentives including alterations to maximum height, minimum lot size, and setbacks (§14.4).
