Green Building

The village's code of ordinances requires new public buildings, and provides incentives for private buildings to, receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Incentives include expedited permitting and density bonuses based on LEED certification level (Silver, Gold, and Platinum) (§5-57). The village's green building program also highlights minimum green building standards that are required for all new public, commercial, and mixed-use buildings and renovations regardless of LEED certification (§5-56).
