Green Stormwater Infrastructure

This model ordinance provides a template to help municipalities in Maine draft regulations that encourage using low-impact development (LID) to mitigate runoff pollution in areas designated with Shoreland Zoning. It provides design standards and criteria for new primary structures, new additions to primary structures, and new and additions to decks and accessory structures. The model proposes these provisions for on-site stormwater management with several benefits.
