This article asks whether the development of an affordable housing project in suburban New Jersey negatively impacted crime rates, property values, or property taxes. Contrary to what opponents originally claimed, it finds that the development was not associated with any negative effects. It suggests that good design and management practices may have mitigated any potential negative impact.
