This article is a literature review on the relationship between affordable housing and property values. It finds that the impact of affordable housing on property values is dependent on design and management, compatibility with the neighborhood, and concentration. Table 1 summarizes the first-wave studies, which used a test versus control area methodology, and Table 2 summarizes the second-wave studies, which used a hedonic price estimation methodology.
