Solar Energy

This model ordinance provides a template to help planners in Wisconsin draft land-use and development regulations that permit solar development at different scales and in different land-use contexts. Provisions address scope, purpose, definitions, permitted accessory use, principal use, limitations on restrictions on solar energy systems, renewable energy condition for certain permits, and solar roof incentives.
