This article assesses cooling centers through a public health perspective and offers recommendations to help decision-makers implement and improve these facilities in their communities. Some of the recommendations include improving signs to help direct users to existing cooling centers, promoting cooling centers through electronic and non-electronic channels, and continuing to evaluate cooling centers to help achieve desired outcomes.
