Urban Heat Resilience

This functional plan includes several policies to help the community address the impacts associated with extreme heat. Policy RE-2 recommends increasing the access to parks and open spaces for its cooling effects and using the urban heat vulnerability index to inform the implementation of heat adaptation strategies. And Policy CCS-4 recommends accounting for high heat days when planning City staff duties to minimize exposure to extreme heat.
